Our mission is "Taking the name and meaning of Jesus Christ into our community."
Who we are?
The Shaftsburg United Methodist Church has been a part of the Shaftsburg community for over 100 years. We are a small, welcoming country church that seeks to share our love of God with our local community and beyond. Our current building was first used on Easter Sunday 2000. It is very handicap friendly. Worship services are held each Sunday beginning at 9:30 a.m. From 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. is a time of fellowship with each other with coffee and snacks. Sunday School classes are provided for all ages from 11:00 a.m. until noon during the school year.
Pastor Nancy Powers and husband Paul came to Shaftsburg in July of 2012. Nancy is a warm, caring, compassionate pastor; a woman who is quick to laugh and enjoys fulfilling her calling of spreading God's word and love. She is a pastor who preaches from the Bible, relates the verses to life today, and at the end of worship will leave you thinking on what you can do to become more like Jesus.
Paul enjoys cooking, baking, woodworking, biking, and most of all serving God. He has a warm, friendly way about him and is often seen laughing.
Kids Cupboard Mission - Provides free clothing, diapers and other baby supplies to families in our community. Open each month on the 4th Monday from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m.
